What is Code Management?
The Code Management Service co-ordinates the production of evidence for the code assessor at design and post construction stages, which currently under the BRE standard service is the responsibility of the client. This point is sometimes misunderstood by clients who assume the Code Assessor will carry out this work. However, the BRE guidance is clear in this respect and states the Code Assessors role is ‘limited to advising and guiding clients as to what evidence is required in order to award credits ‘.
Post Construction Evidence
In particular, many elements of the post construction evidence can be quite onerous and time consuming to co-ordinate. Unless the client has a high degree of understanding of the Code for Sustainable Homes there is a risk credits may not be awardable unless the evidence is presented in a timely and proper manner and actioned at the correct stages in the design and construction process.

The Quintro Code Management service offers the opportunity to properly consider the requirements for the Code for Sustainable Homes from an early stage in the design process, to effectively manage costs and to properly co-ordinate the work of the design team.
The service continues through to the construction stages to ensure that the contractor is aware of their obligations to keep adequate systems and records in place to achieve certain code credits. The post construction service can also include on site briefings, to ensure the contractor is aware of the requirements for the build to comply with the stringent code requirements. |
